TEST DRIVE: Nike Air Pegasus + 26 / 27 Today I talk about my training shoe: Nike Air Pegasus 26 +, the historical model of the Bowerman series.
Neutra, 325 grams, the classic training shoe ...
the first time you test, the first feeling is one of absolute comfort: Wrap your foot without tighten or get this move too.
This is the classic Nike Air cushioning in both the heel and forefoot feels from the first moment when you are wearing (one of the shoes is more economical to have a cushion so complete).
The upper is very soft in a three-dimensional mesh, reinforced by inserts that wrap around the right foot without being heard.
The sole is pretty tough, many small spikes that are appreciated even on unpaved roads ... Of course we should not expect to go too extreme trail without slipping at least a little '(see second picture, in this regard would add that I managed to clean it rather than simply making it go almost new). It is also "flat", ie no groove between the toe and heel classic brands like Mizuno and Asics, and makes it more stable while running. This detail is also present in some Brooks. The
insole is nothing exceptional, but ... In fact I think I'll try to replace it, to see if I can further improve the shoe.
[This morning I stopped at a shop Passsport Signoressa to see the latest news and ask for advice on a shoe having the Treviso Marathon in 2011. While I was there I also requested a solution to the insole of this shoe that I was getting blisters under the arch of the foot: apparently because these are formed during the rolling profile of the insole is raised a bit at that point, creating a fold that is the real cause of the problem. I got home, as recommended, a little rubbed with sandpaper and then I shaped by heating with a lighter. The result is that now in output and adheres much better this afternoon I have not encountered any problems! Thanks!]
Obviously, this model is Nike + compatible (this accessory that I use a lot, I'll create a post in a not too distant future).
now in stores you will find the Pegasus 27. The differences with the version described so far are not as extreme
- design, changing only in appearance and in my opinion, it disrupts the function of the upper
- the sole is been slightly modified, but no changes of note. Some say that it was hard, but personally I felt this thing ... Indeed, 95% of people who consider the very soft feel
- staying inside the new insole Fitsole, able to adapt to the foot and softer than before (we hope)
- "sock inside: in essence the tab is joined to the rest of the upper to the sides, making it even more that the foot is wrapped and not feel the seams of the shoe (the only change which I really appreciate it)
The price is about 100euro. I believe the shoe to aim for as soon as you enter a store looking for a shoe with which grind kilometers or with which to start racing.
